with making your APV.
A workplace assessment (APV) gives you the opportunity to work systematically and effectively with the working environment in the company. The APV is the company's tool for managing the working environment.
APV is about mapping the company's working environment, identifying the areas where efforts are needed and making a plan for how you will improve the working environment in these areas.
Many companies achieve both a better working environment and increased well-being with their APV.
At the same time, a study shows that it is easier to identify the working environment problems that can lead to high sickness absence when sickness absence is included in the APV. The first step has thus been taken to eliminate the disease-related working environment problems.
Digital APV
Our digital APV is an online survey that consists of research-based questions that will map the employees' physical and psychological working environment. The APV also examines the level of stress, well-being and the individual's experience of influence on their own work and development opportunities.
When the survey is completed by alle employees, we prepare a report and analysis of the results in the APV.
We then make a prioritized list of the areas where your working environment is most challenged and the places where you score the highest.
All reports and analyzes are collected in a complete report in PDF format.
We offer our digital APVs for alle industries based on the requirements of the Danish Working Environment Authority.
Why prepare an APV?
The APV is not just an obligation that the company has in relation to occupational health and safety legislation. The APV is a tool that the company can use to systematize its work with the working environment, and which can contribute to a good working environment.
There are advantages for companies in having a good working environment. This can lead to:
- Fewer costs as a result of accidents and work-related illnesses
- Less sick leave
- Less turnover among employees
- Increased job satisfaction, motivation and productivity
The company itself can choose the methods and tools it wants to use to implement the APV.
The Norwegian Working Environment Authority does not have to approve the APV, but supervises that the company implements the APV process in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.
What should the company do?
In the working environment legislation, there are requirements for the APV, which the company must always comply with:
- The APV must be in writing.
- The APV must be available at the company so that both management, employees and the Norwegian Working Environment Authority can read it.
- Management and employees must cooperate on the entire APV process.
All companies with employees must complete an APV. The employer is responsible for this happening. This also applies if there is only one employee, and also even if it is only a matter of temporary employment or casual work.
For companies where the work is carried out by persons from the employer's household, e.g. children or spouses, and where no other employees are employed, there is no obligation to make an APV.
Who should be involved in the APV process?
When a company must implement an APV, the occupational health and safety organization (AMO) must be involved in the entire process. This applies to planning, implementation, follow-up and revision of the APV. In the companies where there is no requirement for AMO, the employees must participate in the APV work in the same way. The AMO/employees must sign the APV as documentation that they have participated.
It is often appropriate to agree common goals and "rules of the game" for the APV work with the occupational health and safety organization. These can, for example, concern the following questions: What is the purpose of the APV? Are there – in addition to the working environment organisation's members – a need for more key people in the process? Which methods and tools should be used? How and by whom are any problems registered, prioritized and resolved? Who is responsible for maintaining the activity in the individual departments? Is there a need for meetings, courses, an introductory seminar, training etc.? Is there a need for external assistance, for example from an occupational health and safety adviser? How is the experience gathered and how is it used in connection with the revision of the APV? |
If a company does not have sufficient insight to carry out the APV itself, it must get help from external advisers. The occupational health and safety organization must be consulted before the company approaches for help.
